Taiwan! Let's Get Married! (2018)
Synopsis:
In May 2017, Taiwan’s Constitutional Court ruled that same-sex marriage must be legalized, giving lawmakers two years to amend or introduce legislation—positioning Taiwan to potentially become the first place in Asia to do so. However, the path forward has been difficult, as opposition groups have used debates over sex and gender education to influence public opinion, and lawmakers have faced delays in advancing related bills. Taiwan’s pursuit of marriage equality continues amid ongoing political and social tension.
