Journalist/Video Artist/Educator
A native of Taiwan, Larry Tung was a political reporter for the English-language Taiwan News before moving to the U.S. in 2000. His documentary, Daughters From China, received the best documentary prize in the Honolulu International Festival in 2005, and has been featured in numerous film festivals in north America, including the Vancouver Asian Film Festival, Asian American Film Festival of Dallas, and the Reel World Film Festival. His most recent work, "Envisioning Justice," a documentary on the life and work of transgendered activist Pauline Park, is to screen at the New Fest and San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival in June.
Currently, he is an assistant professor in the Department of Media & Film at Kean University. He is also an independent media artist and a columnist to the Online Journalism Award-winning Gotham Gazette.
